Abstract

The present investigation was undertaken with the main objective of utilization of vermiwash spray on growth and yield of radish cv. LOCAL VARIETY. The experiment was laid out in Randomized Completely Block Design with five treatments and four replications. The experiment consists of five treatments involving application of water and vermiwash in the proportion of 1:1, 1:2, 1:3 and 1:4 and control were imposed and the foliar application was made by using knapsack sprayer in the evening hours twice at 15 and 30 days after sowing seeds. The data clearly revealed that the yield obtained with treatment T₄ (100 % RDF as fertigation and vermiwash foliar twice times spray 1:4 at 15 and 30 days after sowing seeds) was significantly higher than all other treatments in growth and yield attributes such as ischolar_main diameter (5.53 cm), length (25.90 cm), weight (90.90 g), yield/plot (18.18 kg), yield/ha (60.59 t/ha) and marketable yield (45.45 t/ha) of radish cv. LOCAL VARIETY. Thus, it can be concluded that foliar spray of vermiwash (1:4) effective than control.

Abstract

Fertigation, splitting and mulching are an essential tools in precision farming and that effectively affected in physiological, growth attributes, yield and quality parameters as well as nutrients content in leaves. Joint use of fertigation and mulch resulted in comparable growth and yield as unmulched condition and saved in fertilizers and irrigation water. Mulches maintain the soil temperature, retard the loss of soil moisture, suppress of wood growth, conservation of soil from erosion, reduction of soil salinity, improvement of soil structures, improve water infiltration rate by creating hindrance in flow of water, control of pest and diseases and enhance microbial activity in the field. The total dry matter (TDM) production and leaf area index were significantly higher in drip irrigation. Water-soluble fertilizer (WSF) fertigation recorded significantly higher total dry matter and LAI over drip irrigation. Chlorophyll concentration was significantly higher in fertigation treatments over soil applied treatments. The fruit yield in fruit crop was higher in drip irrigation over furrow irrigation. Fertigation with 100 per cent WSF increased the fruit yield significantly over furrow-irrigated control and drip irrigation. Fertigation resulted in lesser leaching of NO₃-N and K to deeper layer of soil. Subsurface drip fertigation caused higher assimilable P in deeper layer.

Abstract

From whole globe the demand of oil and gas is increasing so increase production is most important. To increase oil production from existing wells in an oil field we have to focus much on optimizing oil production. One way to optimize oil production is to find an alternative to existing intermittent gas lift technology. As we study big oil field currently with huge oil and gas operating companies, the gas injection line network is very old and new intermittent gas lift installations on new wells has been connected to the existing network. Now this creates gas starving for the new installations and resulting in inadequate amount of gas production from the well. By introducing Plunger lift technology of artificial gas lift along with existing intermittent gas lift can provide a fool proof solution to the problem and also reduction in injected gas requirement also. Thus, reducing the compressor duty and overall reduction in environmental emission of harmful gases by reducing the diesel engine load required previously for compression. This paper discusses in detail with proof in form of tables, increase in oil production and reduction in injection gas requirement and reduction in emission of harmful gases to the environment.
